Oaxaca, Mexico

Duncan and I went to Oaxaca in May for a vacation.  The food and cocktail scene there is unbelievable but we also were doing a little shopping and sourcing fro KMM.  Here is a little peek into our trip.

One of the many things I love about Mexico, and Guatemala, are the colorful painted buildings.

I love this storefront adorned with natural and handmade materials.  San Miguel also does a bang up job of decorating their entryways.

We stayed at a bed and breakfast named Grana B&B.  You enter here through a tall, heavy wooden door into the foyer, these beautiful chandeliers, for lack of a better word, are made from local taper candles.  From there you enter the large open courtyard.

The fountain was not flowing when we were there because of the drought, water was brought in from Mexico City in huge trucks.

This is also where breakfast is served, check out all of the cacti and other plants that line this courtyard.

It was overcast at the time I took these, it rained every afternoon, but the rest of the time it was sunny and very warm.

This kitchen has become quite iconic, it is one of the most photographed rooms in the B&B.  Go give them a follow on Instagram because everyone who stays here takes beautiful photographs with their own personal touch. @granabnb

Each morning they had the most beautiful, and delicious, fruit and pastries but you can also order your own omelets and waffles, bacon, etc.

I thought it made a pretty nice background for photographing the clothing I bought each day.
