A Salut to Female Entrepreneurs
I have had the best time participating in the last two holiday markets. The Northside Methodist Preschool market was a three-day event where I met so many interesting makers and like-minded artisans. I made new connections and am in the process of starting a networking event where we women can get together and pool our resources. Whether it is sharing social media knowledge or simply offering moral support.
Yesterday I was at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta selling at their holiday market. I was so excited to see some of the people I had met at the Northside Market and meet more female entrepreneurs.
Pictured above is a pitcher made by one of my favorite female potters, Jennifer Bates @bates pottery. Beside it is a candle I purchased yesterday at the First Pres sale from a fellow vendor. Young Gentry is the name of the candle brand and it was created by Scarlet and Mags. I bought the Lavandula scented candle and it is amazing. It is a limited edition so I might need to stock up!
What I did not plan was the stack of books in the picture, it just so happens they are all about women who are some of my favorite designers and artisans.
Young Gentry also sells in the Ponce City Market at Citizen Supply.

The naturally beautiful Ofelia who along with her sister design this beautiful line of women's sleepwear/loungewear and children's sleepwear. Ofelia's sister still lives in Peru and Ofelia lives here in Atlanta.
Leena and Lu use only organic cotton to make the softest sleepwear. The dyes they use are natural from vegetables. I bought a nightgown and did not want to take it off. Most importantly, they waste nothing, they even make these cool makeup remover pads from the scraps.

I bought this Lima Long Dress nightgown.

Here is another new artist I discovered yesterday.
Emmie Jeanne Designs, you can find her on Instagram @emmiejeannedesigns.
I love this cotton wall hanging I bought but the first thing that caught my eye was the adorable ornaments she makes.

She also makes earrings...

She uses colored yarns too, I was just drawn to the natural fibers yesterday.
Stay tuned for more adventures!!!
