Puerto Rico New Year's 2024
Duncan and I went to Puerto Rico after Christmas for some much needed rest and relaxation. The first three days were spent in old San Juan where we walked the cobblestone streets and enjoyed some delicious cocktails and food. Then the last three days were spent hanging out by the pool in the neighboring area of Condado.
The architecture in Old San Juan reminded me a lot of Havana where in one city block you may have a structure where one unit was ravaged by a hurricane connected to the next unit in pristine condition.
The city's architectural style is a combination of Colonial, Baroque and Renaissance due to it's rich history.

The art museum was quite beautiful with an impressive collection.

We originally planned to spend the entire time in Old San Juan but covered most of what we wanted to see in the first three days. Not to mention, our hotel did not have a pool and we realized there was no beach access so we changed up our plans.
I recommend going for a long weekend, staying in Condado at one of the hotels and taking day excursions into Old San Juan. It is a beautiful island with a lot of interesting history.
