The Origin Of The Sofia Wrap Skirt

Duncan and I visited Oaxaca, Mexico in the summer of 2023 and it was as if I had been dropped into a deep bucket of inspiration.

One day as we were walking around town I saw some wrap skirts being sold by a street vendor and I had to have one. Me, being the impulsive shopper that I am, bought all they had. When we went back to the hotel that afternoon, I took some pictures of myself in the skirt and that was all she wrote.

I sold all that I had purchased over Instagram within two days so naturally I went and found more, there were even some in a few small shops. When I arrived back in Atlanta, my wheels started turning and I thought, "Let's start making these."

This was the first prototype from Peru.

No matter what color you choose, the Sofia skirt can be worn year-round.

I wore this combination to an outdoor summer wedding.

My favorite story about Sofia is that she looks great on everyone. At one of my pop ups, every body type loved the skirt but were intimidated by it. I told them to go try it on and come out and let me see it. Every woman that tried on that skirt bought it and that still holds true for today, two years later.
